Ready to Hang Up Your Wrenches? Discover a New Path With Mitchell 1!

Are you a skilled auto, truck, or diesel technician looking for a change of pace? Whether you're transitioning out of the military, newly retired, or simply ready to shift gears, Mitchell 1 offers a unique opportunity to apply your hard-earned expertise off the shop floor—and into a stable, rewarding office-based role.

Why Join Us?

Mitchell 1, a division of Snap-on Inc., has been a trusted name in automotive and commercial vehicle repair information for over 100 years. Our mission is to make life easier for repair professionals by delivering the most accurate and up-to-date diagnostic and repair data in the industry.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Someone with hands-on experience with automotive, diesel, or commercial vehicles
  • Wants to leverage that knowledge in a new way, without the physical demands of the shop
  • Enjoys problem-solving, learning, and contributing to a supportive team

This is a full-time, on-site position based at Mitchell 1’s headquarters in San Diego, operating Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Research and compile repair procedures and diagnostics for heavy-duty trucks, diesel, and commercial vehicles
  • Ensure technical data is accurate, clear, and consistent
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals
  • Provide insights and suggestions to improve our products based on user needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; vocational training or associate degree preferred
  • 1+ year of hands-on auto, truck repair, or diesel tech experience
  • ASE certifications are a plus
  • Strong communication and writing skills (college-level English coursework a bonus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently
